JKFGD President supports unemployment dental surgeons demands, urges to create 1000 posts

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Federation of Gazetted Dental Employees today urged the government to create 1000 posts of Dental Surgeons while supporting the unemployed dental surgeons, stating that there is a great dearth of dental surgeons in the UT and it’s high time for the administration to create and fill all these posts on fast track basis.

In a statement, he said that the government must take the Dentistry seriously and ensure that proper manpower is given to each hospital.

“There is a vacancy of 1000 dental surgeons in J&K hospitals which needs to be filled on war footing to meet the growing needs across the UT. We have been appealing the government since long, but all our demands are falling on deaf ears,” said Adil Malik, president of the Federation.

He said that all the major hospitals in J&K lack proper dental staff and government must all the pending vacancies on priority.

Dr Malik further said the government should create Department of Dentistry with all specializations in every district hospital and sub district hospitals across the UT Jammu and Kashmir.

Ritesh Gupta, Secretary of the Federation, demanded a separate directorate  for all the dentistry as there is already in other States. “There has to be a separate Director so that our issues would also be addressed in time. We are not getting the due attention despite the fact we are serving on the forefront,” he said.
