Peer Viqar Ul Aslam resigns from JKSPAM

SRINAGAR: Peer Viqar Ul Aslam, who was the chief spokesperson of Jammu and Kashmir Socio-Political Activist Movement resigned on Sunday citing personal reasons, parting ways amicably from the group.

Peer Viqar Ul Aslam is a prominent Journalist and TV Debater, well known for his human rights advocacy and social work across Jammu and Kashmir. He appears on major national TV channels like Republic, Times Now, NewsX and India News, etc.

He had earlier joined JKSPAM and was appointed as its chief spokesperson but owing to personal reasons he called it a day, and decided to leave the group.

Peer Viqar Ul Aslam said about his resignation “I want to work independently, as I don’t have time to continue with so many responsibilities. I’m really thankful to the core members who tried to retain me but I think it’s time to move on and continue to serve the people in my individual capacity.”

Peer Viqar Ul Aslam said that he resigned owing to personal reasons and hopes the group serves the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He maintains that the group has some very important public figures and intellectuals, who can make positive changes for a better future of Jammu and Kashmir.

“I would like to inform the general public and my followers that I have disassociated myself from JKSPAM and future press statements by the group should not be ascribed to me.”

He also said that he has decided to work independently, and would not join any group or forum in near future.
