Peerzada Abdur Rashid Makhdoomi passes away

SRINAGAR: Kashmir valley’s well known olitical and social leader Peerzada Abdur  Rashid Makhdoomi alias Bulbul left this worldly abode on Tuesday  morning, 16 April, leaving behind a sea mourners and heart broken nears and dears.

Over his sad demise many political, social and Islamic organisations paid their rich tributes to the deceased and offered their condolences to his sons Peerzada Arjamand Makhdoomi, Chairman of Chotay Taray Foundation, Peerzada Hedaytul Rashid and the bereaved family.

Peerzada Abdur Rashid Makhdoomi resident of Peer Mohalla, Natipora, Srinagar passed away at the age of 70 years. Mr. Makhdoomi was known as very close friend and associate of Shaheed Abdul Gani Lone, founder of People's Conference.

Peerzada Abdur Rashid Makhdoomi was suffering illness for a long period of time, and on Tuesday morning he passed away returning to Allah almighty.

His funeral prayers were held at Natipora in which many prominent political, social and religious figures along with scores of people from all walks of life participated.

With moist eyes, the deceased was buried in his ancestral graveyard at Astan, Natipora.

The gathering praised the deceased for his socio-religious contributions to the society and also widely spoke about his kind and merciful character, devotion towards selflessly serving the humanity.

Fatiha prayers of the deceased will be held on Friday, 19 April at his ancestral graveyard, next to Astan-e-Alia, Natipora, Srinagar at 10:00 AM.
